Welcome Families,

 

It’s my great pleasure to welcome you back to Greenfield Elementary for the 2019/2020 school year.  My name is Sarah Greene and I am this year’s PTSO President.  I have twin sons at Greenfield in the fourth grade.  I have experience with both public and private schools in the area and I can say without a doubt that Greenfield Elementary is not only a top-rated academic institution but a wonderful community of teachers, students and families that really sets it apart from other schools in the area. 

 

As the President of the PTSO, I hope you will help us continue the legacy that Greenfield has created for dedicated volunteers and giving above and beyond our calling. Thanks to the generous donations to our school last year, we were able to support the Greenfield Elementary community with over $24,000 in grants, equipment and higher learning and training among other needs  The teachers and staff have been hard at work this summer getting additional training and working on the implementation of new programs and curriculum.  As a part of those programs, the PTSO will be looking for parent volunteers to help with a school science fair that was launched last year, as well as volunteers to help with The Science Lady program and Art Masterpiece that we will continue to support.  In addition to exciting new events like Fall Family Night we will continue with our long-standing traditions at The Swamp such as Restaurant Nights,  Daddy Daughter Dance and Muffins with Mom.  The Holiday Boutique will be back again and our amazing Fun Run in the spring which, thanks to the annual generosity of the families and extended community, is our ONLY community fundraiser and funds our entire budget for the year! 

 

We truly appreciate the support of our local and extended Greenfield community to make this all happen.  We have hardworking volunteer chair-people who are dedicated to coordinate and execute all of the fun events throughout the year.  If you are interested in getting involved in an event or helping out in the classroom, please email the PTSO and we’d love to get you connected.  Our general PTSO meetings are typically the first Thursday of each month from 12-1PM in the library.  We hope you’ll come join us – younger siblings are always welcome.
